The dust-chasers are coming.

This is a direct consequence of Elaine burying messages in old posts.

The meeting I missed because of her incompetence included the Chinless Wonder himself, Jeremy Farty-Jones. I threw him out of my office weeks ago, along with his ridiculous notions on investigating orbs. Orbs! Dust on a lens, nothing more.

Well, it seems he's hooked up with a couple of dust-chasers and persuaded the fat idiot Orson to allow a convention. Here. In Marchway. On orbs. The place will be full of the half-witted morons.

I could have argued against this if I had known about that meeting.

Honestly, the woman is insufferable.

"Farty-Jones. I threw him out of my office"

Hope you opened a window afterwards.

"Honestly, the woman is insufferable."

And hot, I'm guessing. Men only bother to bother about women they want.

So its...

E and R sittin' in a tree
k-i-s-s-i-n-g
First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes...

Well divorce, obviously. Who could live too long with you, Rom?

No offense.

I should, on reflection, have opened a window first.

As to whether Elaine is hot, I must admit I've never checked her temperature.

And your romantic illusions are just that. Elaine works for me, if you can call it that, and no more.

Okay then, we'll take about dust, 'cause that's got to be way more interesting than say, hot, long-legged assistants havin' a pint or two at the local Sit-n-Drink-Stand-n-Smoke. Skirts or slacks? Which do you think would be more....

Oh, that's right. Back to dust...

So are these dust balls scary to anyone other than, say, asthmatics?

Rom!
You just get off Elaine's case! She does half your work, as well as her own, and covers for you all the time when you shirk your duties just because you don't like certain people or certain topics. And then you treat her like a slave.

You knew about that meeting - we even discussed your intention to skip it. An intention I warned you was unwise.

And I was right. The Americans that showed up with young F-J, and others, were a bit perturbed about the poor taste of your anti-Americanism.

Elaine did her best to calm them. F-J jumped in with the suggestion that since you can't seem to bother with half or more of your job that you should be replaced.

Orson of course brushed him off then but during a break F-J Jr and Sr had quite a conflab and came back to suggest that Elaine be promoted to Department Co-chair - ie: equal to you.
Seeing how pleased that idea made the foreign members of the group, Orson agreed and put it on the agenda for consideration at the next board meeting. With him and both F-Js behind it ...

Hope you are willing to drop into the next chapter of your life Rom, because it really looks like have blundered too much in this one. Or blustered.

Oh, and they did agree that Marchway will host an international convention on the subject of orbs.

I suggest you attend the next meeting Orson calls you to.

Imogen
