There are a few things happening tomorrow. It's the Winter Solstice and it's also a total lunar eclipse. The eclipse starts at 6:30 am GMT and is visible from the UK. I'm not sure how good it will look from other parts of the globe but I think Eastern parts of North America might get a good view. In fact, I'm a little late with this because Americans will see it in the early hours of the 21st.
Here, the moon will be setting as it goes into eclipse and the sun will be just starting to rise. The last time this happened was in 1638. The years following it saw the English civil war, the Great Plague, the Witchfinders, the beheading of King Charles and finished with the Great Fire of London in 1666. So it wasn't a good omen, really. Fortunately we don't currently have a King Charles, so let's hope the Queen is in extraordinarily good health.
I hope to see the eclipse, but it's full cloud cover at the moment. It doesn't look promising.

I was outside at work, perfect for viewing really...except that it was so overcast all night there wasn't a hope or prayer of seeing it. I was so bummed.
Thanks for the historic data. I tried to find something, but didn't have enough time to devote to a real search. I did, however make a chart for the 1638 eclipse, which was in the same degree - 29 degrees Gemini (a Void of Course moon, meaning that "nothing will come of it.") However, there was a Yod aspect (the Finger of God) to Pluto (which rules plague and death, among other things) in the earlier eclipse that was not present in this one.
I missed it too. Well, I didn't miss it because I was up in time but it was cloudy, so I gave up.
Later, it was clear skies which then stayed all day.
Somewhere, one or other of the various forms of God laugh at me and chalk up another 'got him'.
One day I'll die and then he's going to get a right earful.
Something nasty is building up here and while it won't be directed at royalty this time because they have no real power, it's coming anyway. My worry is that it will be rage without a target. That's the worst kind because everyone and everythng is then the target.
If you were here, you'd feel it in the air and see it in the eyes of people in the street. Everyone is angry but they don't know why.
They still get out of my way. My rage is inborn and I know how to control and use it.
Most people don't.
The elclipse was eerily beautiful here in Texas. Hubby tried to take pictures, but they didn't turn out well.
Are people in Britian angry because they feel betrayed? From the outside looking in (which isn't always the correct view) it seems that promises were made to the people that if they'd let the government tell them what they could eat, smoke, drink, and say, that in exchange for surrending all that personal autonomy to the state the state would 'provide'. Now they suspect the state isn't going to be able to live up to its end of the bargain. Is that it?
Regina - people are angry at the government dictating how they live their lives. It's not just smoking and drinking, it's how much salt, fat, anything they should have.
The NHS has started refusing treatment to smokers and the overweight. We are fast becoming a country where if you don't fit the standard drone format, you are not considered human.
We have a government that simply isn't listening to anyone any more. That sort of thing, historically, has never ended well.
